Robin SafleySince 2003, Robin Safley has been a Consultant in Tallahassee, representing clients before the Executive Branch and Local Government. For the last 10 years she has also co-hosted the "Usual Suspects", a Florida political and news talk show.
Ms. Safley is one of TCC's own who after 2 years here, went on to FSU where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication in 1985 and her Juris Doctor degree in 1988. She has devoted much of her professional life to Florida state government most recently serving as chief of staff to the then Commissioner of Education Charlie Crist where she coordinated all issues within the DOE including personnel and policy. Earlier in her legal career, she served as an Attorney for the Departments of Insurance and Commerce. As Counsel to the Senate Republican Office, she was responsible for the research, drafting and analysis of legislation and while Chief of Staff to the Senate President in the mid 1990s, she handled supervision of personnel, scheduling of committees and coordination of legislative activities with the House of Representatives and Governor's Office. Ms. Safley's professional achievements are rivaled only by her community involvement and volunteerism. She has served on the Board and as Chair of the Florida Sports Foundation, the Board of the Leon County Schools Foundation and is currently president of the Leon High School Foundation. She works with Capital Health Plan on CHP Champions, a personal fitness program in our area elementary and middle schools. She serves on the Whole Child Leon Leadership Council, the Advisory Board creating the first Senior Games in Tallahassee and, as committee member of the United Way's Power of the Purse, she will work on a fundraising project aimed at expanding services for homeless women and children in our area. This proud mother of two daughters, married to Sandy Safley, has completed 3 Ironman races and is training for her 4th. Labels |
