PLEASE NOTE: Levels are not operational as we share this site with first users (beta tests/guinea pigs). Once we open the Wiki widely, we'll put them in place. If we specifically invited you to review the Wiki, you'll be a privileged user once we set levels. If you found us on your own if you contribute in a civilized manner between now and institution of levels we'll make you privileged as well.
We believe that "We the Wiki" can become a powerful tool for good decision-making in the hands of responsible adults. If that describes you, we're delighted to have you with us.
Here are the levels of access available to you:
Unregistered users. Read away, but try as you might you won't be able to add your two cents.
New Registered users may add new content but you're sort of on probation. Since you're new to us, you lose the privileges of registration faster than someone with a wee bit of history with us. So watch yourself. You might want to brush up on the Wiki Road Rules .
Registered users who have been with us for longer than 1 month have earned full access without our spying eyes and automatically become regular registered users. Post away, add pages, pictures, you are part of the team. If you make a substantial contribution as a registered user after 6 months, stay civil and factual, you can ask for a special privilege access (below).
Privileged Users have earned special access to otherwise locked pages. This requires at least 3 months of constructive participation as a registered user following Wiki Road Rules . Privileged Users can: Add events and "Facts Matter" feature boxes, chastise with a "Rap on the Knuckles," suggest when content might run afoul of Village Square 101 wisdom, and administer spaces to create their own little universe of factual and civil discussion. Imagine the power. Drive carefully, though, since you can be demoted. Ask for these privileges here.
Village Square city, state and national leadership. Interested in joining us by starting a Village Square in your own hometown? Learn more here. There's a whole lot of uncharted territory for civil discourse out there right about now so opportunity abounds.
No access. You killed the pig. You can still read, but you can't post due to a serious violation in the Wiki Road Rules or something you did that we couldn't even imagine enough to write it into the rules. We'll offer warnings whenever possible so that you know you're skating on thin ice, but make no absolute promises. Participation in this community is a privilege, not a right, so use your power wisely (since goodness knows, we may not). Think we pulled your privileges unfairly? Appeal here.
