Terry Lewis has served as a judge since 1989 following ten years in the private practice of law with Oven, Gwynn & Lewis. Judge Lewis serves as faculty for numerous courses offered at Florida Judicial College, College of Advanced Judicial Studies, Judicial Conference Education Programs and C.L.E.programs. He is the Chair of the Education Committee for both the Conference of County Court Judges and the Conference of Circuit Court Judges and as Co-Chair of the Florida Court Education Council. He is also an Adjunct professor at the F.S.U. College of Law.
Judge Lewis's honors include the 1993 Florida Law Related Education Association Judge of the Year, 1996 Judge Harvey Ford Leadership Award and in 2000 Tallahassee Chapter American Board of Trial Advocates Trial Judge of the Year. He is a member of Leadership Tallahassee and Leadership Florida. He has served as Tallahassee Rotary Club President, on the YMCA Board of Directors, as Special Consultant and Volunteer Coordinator for Kids Voting, a founding Judge for Leon County Teen Court, Justice Teaching Institute Coordinator and on the Leon County Whole Child Project.
