h3. {color:#3366ff}JOIN US FOR A CONVERSATION{color} {color:#cb3446}ABOUT SAFETY IN OUR COMMUNITY{color}

*Our news headlines can be heart wrenching. * Bullying. Hate crimes. Shooting sprees. Do residents feel safe in their community? At home? At school? At work? At the mall? Whose job is it to keep our communities safe? Law enforcement? Community members? How do we assure our communities, homes, schools, citizens and peace officers are safe? Join the conversation on February 26, 2015.

The _Village Square Sacramento_ "Dinner at the Square” is a community dinner party where 100 to 150 neighbors can discuss topics of importance with subject-matter experts who offer data and perspective to help inform and shape the dialogue. It’s a casual and _friendly_ conversation.

Often tough topics have a spectrum of opinions in respect to both the origins of the challenge as well as the best methods for achieving solutions. Dinner at the Square is designed to host these sorts of conversations in a civil and respectful, safe place where meaningful discussion can take place -- while having fun\!

The _Village Square Sacramento_ intends to rebuild a modern-day village square and rekindle what it means to be engaged in policy matters that affect our lives and our wider community. We intend to show how dialogue (vs. debate) and disagreement can be held on deeply politicized issues -- while staying civil and getting to answers that work. It's based on proven model built in Florida over seven years that has received national attention and a growing list of converts from around the country. Read about the Village Square in the Christian Science Monitor [here|http://www.csmonitor.com/Commentary/Common-Ground/2014/0611/Civil-discourse-that-doesn-t-taste-like-broccoli].

We hope you’ll join us\!
